Thanks nocmonkey.That was helpful.Its not like I havent been doing that all day. You google TCO windows google and see the quality of results that you get. Its all little one page blurbs from ZDnet and computeruser.blahs... I want something more substantial..Something you would be willing to give to a superior in a company.Thats not what its for but thats the quality that I want.Why dont you stay in OS where you are actually helpful.
Linux vs. Windows was the first result. I didn't read it, but it wasn't a 1 page zdnet article.
Some of the articles here talk about cost. This one isn't free, but it doesn't look like it's another "slow day fluff" piece. This suggests Linux has a lower TCO than Solaris, or atleast something else that Lockheed wanted. This one seems to give some information on what to look for in these studies. A link to a company refuting Windows TCO claims.
