I bought 3 TCL 43" 4K Roku TVs early this year. I don't know anything about Roku beyond my experience with 2 of these (one hasn't been set up).
These sets are connected to rooftop antennas and have a feature whereby having a 16GB flash drive inserted in the USB port, they support recording up to 90 minutes of live TV. You can PAUSE, REW, FF as long as you are within 90 minutes of the current moment. If you change channels, the recording is erased and you start over.
I'm finding that if I'm watching TV more than around 15 minutes from the current time, I have a significant and annoying lip synch issue. Video appears before you hear the sound by something like up to 1/4 second (guessing on that delta t), and I think the delay is accentuated the longer you are from "live TV." If I'm within 4 minutes or so, it's really practically unnoticeable. Much longer and it makes it hard to watch TV if it has people talking with video of them talking.
I tried various flash drives, thinking that a faster stick might solve the problem but swapping them hasn't helped. I have used Kingston Data Traveler USB 2.0 drives, Kootion USB 3.0 drives, and I just bought a 5 pack of Sandisk Ultra USB 3.0 flash Drives (all 16GB drives here), and the problem persists.
Does anyone know anything about this? Do you have a Roku TV? Do Roku TVs all support this feature?
