tbsc no sound need help

I recently purchase a TBSC. Downloaded the 4193 (Win 2k) driver and the installation went fine. I have Altec Lansing 251 speakers and hooked up the corresponding color coded cables. No sound what so ever. I have and AMD XP board with on board sound that has been disabled in BIOS. This is a new system and there are no other PCI boards. I have an nvidea video card 5200. The sound check runs and the hardware test does not check out, all other test do. TB site says that they have problems with the hardware check coming back not functioning. I have read that some boards come with a wire...is that something I need? Any suggestions about possible fixes would be great. Am really looking forward to being able to hear something!
