Tbird with 266 fsb inside an ASUS A7V?

before 2 months I checked at download.asus.com.tw for bios updates
there was version 1011, there was info that it would support even Throughbred(fsb 266), I didnt believe that, but that is what was published on asus oficial site. So I flashed my bios with this copy of 1011 and now I can change the fsb from 90 to 200 hypotheticaly, and I found that there are the right dividers for agp and pci for above fsb of 112, but I didnt experimented further...

so u can flash your bios first with 1011 and start your pc, if it works that would be great, if it doesnt, there is no risk for you cpu and mobo, it just will not stat and thats all

thx kolio. But i need a definite answer cause i don't want to buy a tbird 1.4ghz 266fsb and find out that it doesn't work :-/

the asus a7v will run any of the athlons
but it will not support the 133 fsb
so basically you will run the cpu underclocked unless you unlock it and up the clock mult (or rework the bridges to set them to a higher mult)
wish my a7v would post then i could play with my xp 1700+
