Tbird versus XP in Seti

I was wondering how much faster an XP would do a WU than a Tbird at the same clock. I have a Tbird at 1460mhz ,512meg SDR, Abit KT7a. I am getting 5 to 5.75 hr per WU. What would an XP 1600 or 1700 get? My FSB is 140.

I've got several XP1600's running. Running stock speed (1400 MHz), they average anywhere from 3:45 to 4:00 a WU. This is across the board on 5 boards..(3 L7SOM's and 2 ECS KT266A models)...each with 128M DDR! 🙂

I have an XP1600 running right now in an Asus A7V133 (KT133a) ,def FSB.I'm getting 4hrs 20 mins for most WU's.
In the same board I had a Duron 1.1GHz @1.2GHz(133 FSB) I got about 4hrs 50mins/WU with that. The Durons from 1Ghz up have the same core design as the Ath XP ,& even these are faster than the Tbirds at SETI

I have 2 1600+ running:

1x @ 166mhz FSB ~ 1750mhz = ~8 wu/day (Epox 8k5a2+ and 256 pc2700)
1x @ 147mhz FSB ~ 1550mhz = ~6 wu/day (ECS K7S5A and 384 pc133)

I have a TBird 1200@1333 (133FSB) running in the same board, it takes 5:45 avg.
I have had the same processer running 1350@150FSB, running 5:10-5:30, after moving it to a Epox 8KHA+ board running the exact same settings, it was running 4:20-4:30 per WU, almost an hour more for the DDR, so XP runs better and so does TBird on DDR 😛

I have a 1600+ XP on an Abit KX7-333
FSB = 172
When I check properties of My Computer I see:

Computer:
AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2200+
1.79 GHz
256 MB of RAM[/b]

😀

I'm running a 1600+ AGOIA-Y@173fsb, 1.8GHZ a aroia-Y@173fsb, 1.8ghz right now and both average 8-9 WU's a day which keeps them even with my 1.6A@2.4ghz, 150fsb 😀

I've got a Duron 1.2ghz that's slower than my TBird 850mhz by a mile....

Not sure if that's luck of the draw or what..?

Somethings wrong with the Duron setup then or it runs heavily intensive CPU progs,I (occassionally) have a Tbird 800 crunch for me ,WU times are about 8hrs ish/WU from that.

Even when I (briefly) had a Duron 1.1GHz at 1177MHz (107x11) I was still managing just under 5hrs/WU which is just faster than my Fathers 1.4GHz Tbird on the same chipset with the same RAM.
One thing I havent yet mentioned which does help a bit is that I have PC133 CL2 RAM in the Duron rig which allows me to set CAS2-2-2,Turbo,4way interleave🙂 ,I guess with CL3 RAM you could add about 15-20 mins/WU?

What's your full spec of your Duron?

I had a 1ghz Morgan on a AK31A 145x8=1.165ghz and it averaged 4 1/2-5hrs a WU........
