I'm planning to buy Abit's AMD 761 chip motherboard (KG7).

Will it support Athlon MP CPU? Why?

Tbird better or MP better? Why?
 
"Better" in what sense?

Overclocking? Performance? Heat output?

Overclocking - not sure. I never OC my CPUs.
Performance - Palomino is faster than Thunderbird at the same clock speed, but it also costs quite a bit more. Palomino also got SSE, which Thunderbird doesn't have.
Heat - reduced quite a bit, afaik.
 
MP at same clock sppeed, but right now T-Bird 1.4 is a better buy at $100 less than a 1.2 that doesn't perform as well.
