What is the performance differnce and reliability between the two? Trying to decide between a P3 733 or TBird 800. Also, can I use an ALPHA PAL 6035 on a P3?

For most applications, a P!!! and an Athlon are equivalent MHz for MHz. You won't notice the difference in either speed or reliability.

A faster HDD is more worth your money than more MHz if you ask me.

If I were going to have to buy a mobo anyway I would definately go with the Thunderbird...has superior achitecture compured to the aging P3 Core

The Athlon Thunderbird has a better performance cost ratio then the PIII. Otherwise... just depends on what type of setup you have.

if already have decent bx board your upgrading from, stick with p3, or if you get new system, socket a motherboards price has dropped as well as the tbirds. Go for the 750 blue meanies and you should hit the four digit mhz in no prob
