Tbird B type and C type

I assume the markings are different... in truth it doesn't matter. You can put a 100 on a 133 board as long as you lower the multiplier. Of course, you could just leave the multiplier and OC it too.
 
Exactly. The product code on the chip tells you that, and all other properties of the chip in front of you.

Learn how to read that product code from the processor's datasheet, chapter "Ordering Information". Available from www.amd.com .

AFAIR on Athlons, the last letter in that code is B for 100 MHz bus and C for 133.

133-MHz-ready boards will also accept 100 MHz type Athlons, and either automatically detect them or require you to move a jumper.
