Am going over to a distributers warehouse today to pick up a pair of 800 Tbirds, Luckily he will allow me to go through his entire inventory to get whatever I want!!! What hould I look for initially to minimize the search..... I plan on overclocking and was hoping to get a gig using a chrome orb..

Thanks

look for the ones with the darker blue cores. These are made in germany and are made of copper rather than alumninum. plus on the serial #, code, whatever you want to call it, you will see a "00" on there right next to it will be another 2 digit number, you want thius one to be as high as you can find, this is the week that they were manufactured. but make sure when you look at the pins on the bottom that there isn't a section missing, these would be the looked ones.

the higher weeks actually have the pins removed, I think week 33 and above has the pins removed. I would say find an earlier week...

Interestingly.... All the ones in his warehouse seem to be 1999 Athlons..

Same rules apply or should I wait for him to bring in the Tbirds for me?

if you can get there right after a shipment comes in, then you will have a good chance of getting the CPU's that will overclock to a good level, just make sure you don't get one with pins on the bottom missing, these are the ones that the multiplier is locked

For my own information can I ask why you say to wait for the new chips? Do the Old ones not overclock?

Also wondering about the Duron now hehe oh the stress!

you can just use a pencil to unlock the cpus, i think the tbird 750 are the best overclockers. Yea look for bluish color die on the cpu. i got one of those and it hit 900 at default voltage and 1ghz with 1.75 volts and 1.1ghz at 1.8 volts

I have picked up two chips from the supplier, all he had in stock today where can I get the info to analyse the part/serial numbers?

This is what I got one seems to end in UPBW and the other DPFW any idea of the difference?
