I just ordered my tbird800 and abit k7t raid from mwave.com

i'm reading a lot about hsf... which ones fit on the k7t and which don't.

wondering who has a similar combination proc/mobo and what hsf they are using. after having the gWin vos32 on my classic athlon 700, i'm leaning towards the fop32-1 or the fop38 (probably the 32, since i hear the 38 is SUPER loud). but also, hearing a lot about taisol lately, but some of them seem to not fit on the abit board.

also, i plan on o'cing, so keep that in mind.

thanks

Any of those you mentioned are very good, or the Alpha 6035. I have the Alpha6035 and YS-Tech 27 cfm fan and it keeps my o/c cpu @ 38 degrees and I can't hear a thing.

Get the fop38 only if you're deaf. It will drive you crazy unless you have some insane sound insulation.

The FOP32-1 and the Taisol are about equal. If height matters, the Taisol is more low profile. They both have about the same footprint size and neither is difficult to attach. I would recommend removing the heat transfer pad which comes on both of them. Artic Silver works better. On my HSF, it made a difference of about 4 degrees C.

Netma,

I see we have a new Thermodynamics Engineer. The REAL difference between PCTC and AS is about 2c (makes no difference to OC results). The PCTC does need to be 'cooked' to achieve the 'change'. (leave the fan disconnected while keeping an eye on the temps). These results come from a scientific thermal chamber with very precise controls. Arctic Silver that is not applied correctly will produce higher temps.
The PCTC also provides that extra little cushion to prevent the core chipping.
