How can you have a CPU at a certain speed with a faster core? How can you find out what kind of core you have?

it makes it easier to produce processors with same core and just underclock it. I have no idea how you tell what your core is though, maybe in the print on the CPU or it's box.

there talking about Slot A ' s
generally , if more people are buying a certain speed, and
AMD , is having too good yeilds , meaning there generally faster then
they need to sell ,they stamp on it the faster speed but lock it at the slower speed.
then sell it at the slower speed ,
so low and behold when you open the case and see the higher core speed.
then you can use a GFD to set the core to run at the tested speed.
