Taxes: What is the window for the 2002 year?

Is it Dec -> Dec, April 15-> April 15, etc? I'm trying to figure out what income from my college fellowship is applicable to be taxed. For example, I started in early Sept. How many month's worth of the fellowship do I put down?

your question is unclear

normal people pay taxes on a calendar year, jan 1st - dec 31st , so you are currently filing for income you made during calendar year 2002
you have to file by april 15th

what is your question?

It covers the year of 2002. It began on Jan 1 2002, and ended on Dec 31 2002..... That's why it's called "2002".

My fellowship form employed fuzzy math, and that's the cause of the confusion. It makes much more sense that a year is a year, but I just wanted to verify ;-) I don't know where they get their numbers, but they're not reporting anything to the IRS, so as long as I report the correct amount it's not an issue.
