I'm currently 2 months away from starting my networking education and have talked to about 10 different people in the field that can confirm that a degree isnt as important as the experience. The consensus is get certified as a CCNA and get a lower level job so you can acquire experience. And specialize like a mother fu....
I would like to purchase some of the gear to build and practice at home. I learn technical protocols much better on my own and would have more control over my learning environment. My question: Can purchase of the equipment be written off on my taxes?
I want the practice network either way, I just don't know if my financial aid will come through for me for my technical college. I did poorly under another program several years ago and they are taking that into account.

He DID say that he is two months away from starting his career...making the classes something for a different career, not his current one.
