It's not up to "Revolutionary" status yet but it is a start:
OK, add Maine to the growing list and looks like soon South Carolina:
4-12-2004 Rising property taxes scare off homeowners
4-3-2004 MyPropertyTaxCut.com
Over the past ten years Florida property taxes have soared 78%, yet population increased just 21%. In the past decade alone, local government levied an additional $8 billion in taxes, spending this windfall at a staggering rate and for what purpose? Local budgets have ballooned, wasteful pet projects have proliferated and still the politicians want more of our money.
That's why I've launched my property tax cut amendment. It's a way to rein in out of control spending and return money to you the taxpayer!
With your help, we can put my amendment on the November, 2004 ballot and make property tax relief a reality.
Every Florida homeowner will save $500 per year in Florida property taxes!
My amendment increases the Homestead Exemption on property assessments by $25,000. That means over $500 in Florida property tax savings to every Florida homeowner with a homesteaded residence.
Let's reign in out of control government spending and put our tax money back in the hands of those who can do the most good with it-you the Florida taxpayer.
Thank you for your help, please sign your petition today!
Sincerely,

Iowa State Constitution Amendment
A Joint Resolution proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the State of Iowa to require approval by vote of the people before certain tax or fee increases take effect.
Senate passed the Amendment to give taxpayers more say
Passed - 26-23
Legislature needs to pass it then it needs to be passed again in the same form next year by both the Senate and House.
Any of you who are in Iowa - call your Legislators and tell them you support this bill allowing people to have more say in their gov't. Also if you are not in Iowa and your State doesn't have an Amendment like this - contact your Legislators suggesting they implement one![]()
Our gov't works best when people have more say

You should add Texas to your list of states revolting against massively high property tax values.
A Houston radio station started a grassroots effort to slow down the skyrocketing property tax values. They started a PAC called C.L.O.U.T. - Citizens Lowering Our Unfair Taxes. The movement has come a long way and has spurred a special session in the Texas Legislature which will review the Governor's proposal to limit the annual property value increase to 3% annually. It is currently 30% over a 3 year period - more than 200% greater than the annual rate of inflation.
