Tax question

Deeko

Ok, last year, I worked at Circuit City's in both the Reading and Philadelphia areas. My primary address is Reading, but while I was at the CC in Philly, they had my school address down, thus I was taxed by the city of Philadelphia. Now, being that my primary address has always been Reading, when I fill out my Reading tax return, they are gonna ask for more money, right? Does this mean that I should also fill out a Philly tax return and get that money back?

When did municipalities begin withholding taxes on wages?

Kansas City does. but you don't have to file because you CAN'T get any back. all KC employers withhold 1% from your check. so it is a flat tax, everybody that works in KC Missouri looses 1% to the hell hole that is the city government

no need to file a form at least

Well, the thing is, Philly charges a higher rate than Reading. So technically I shouldn't have paid as much as I did in the first place...and I think that when I fill out the Reading return that they will ask for more.

Tax S/W for the state taxes may handle this for you.
If not, then you may have to file for a rebate with Phili and pay Reading the amount owed.

Do you file special forms for the local as well as the state?
