Tax Question: IRS and Free File would you do it?

Ok so the IRS is pushing this Free File for those that qualify, however this is done through a 3rd party like Intuit and companies like that. Now, I have filed my own taxes all the time, but last year I did telefile and now I am spoiled :--)

So I want to hear some pros and cons about this free file.

what is the logic behind the "qualifications" ? why are the people that "qualify" more important than those that don't?
 
it has nothing to do with importance, just that for people that make less money (like this broke ass college student) that its easier to file those taxes.

i dunno, i have only filed taxes once, and it was through the free HR block deal last year. it was pretty painless though, i have no idea what it's like on paper
