I don't think it was a good move on her part, but she's part of the anti-gang task force and was trying to get him out of it. I applaud her efforts, but she could have just gotten him a tracfone for the results she was after. Don't think she should lose her job over it.

But! But! We're told the only possible way local governments can save money is cutting police, fire, and teachers! I bet there is so much waste like this in local government its mind blowing. Also not sure if she should be fired but I can't even buy a $250 phone for my job with a huge corporation.

Don't mean to sound insensitive, but how do you force a girl to check into a hotel room so that you can rape her there and no one notices something fishy is going on through the whole process?

At the very least that woman who bought the cell phone should be an accessory to all charges of those crimes committed while using the cell phone.

"But it was obviously bad judgment," he said. "She just became too personally involved and let her heart rule her head."

This idiot is still employed and getting paid $107,000 by the taxpayers because in typical liberal fashion, logic and performance don't matter, what matters is:

Her heart was in the right place, Councilman Barclay C. Winn said.

Sigh.

Because the corp needs to turn a profit. Govt lacks that internal mechanism to control costs.

It doesn't matter dahunan, Bush's heart was in the right place. He tried, isn't that all that matters?

For a second I thought that you posted the budget deficit for this 1 year and not the cost of the wars that have been going on for 10 years.... they are too close for me to be able to tell the difference sometimes... what with the budget deficit being over a trillion dollars this year.

But I looked again and realized that the number you posted was way too low to be the budget deficit for this single year's budget. Cause that's much higher than your number.

I guess that makes the cost of war OK.

This is why women shouldn't work for the government :awe:

Heart was in the right place, but this is just stupid. I don't understand how giving someone a phone is going to help them end a life of being a criminal piece of shit.

$250 is a lot of money for a phone; that may have included the monthly bill for a year or two. I think Radio Shack use to sell something like a Go Phone where the phone was cheap, but the person just bought their minutes. It use to be that the phone company maintained pay phones but over time they have all disappeared. So if you dont have a phone it is a bit difficult to call the police.

I cant say that really believe with the cost, but there are even some federal programs where people on state aid can get a free phone. So there is some need for people to have a phone.

Tru dat. It's not unusual to pay $250 for a phone if you want a really good one. Mine was $200 and Apple's hilariously overpriced iphone is over $600. The point is that the person needed a phone. Just a phone. They don't need a phone with motion sensors and a dildo and HD video recording and all that junk.

Cheapest no-contract phones on Newegg start at $20. If you want one that isn't a piece of shit, try $100.

What was the point of his post?
Summarized it for you:
OP post about government tax dollars at work.
dahunan posts about government tax dollars at work overseas.
You whine about the deficit.
Bush defenders yell "But Boooooooooosh!"

Or...

OP posts about government tax dollars at work

dahunan posts about government tax dollars at work overseas, as if it's justified because the former is much less.

I post about the deficit for this year being 30% more than the 10 years worth of war that dahunan whines about, as if it is justified because the former is much less.

You ask if it is justified because the former is so much less.

I say that you answered your own question.

You get confused.

No, whenever idiots try to justify current government stupidity by pointing to something done during the Bush administration years ago, I point out their stupidity by summarizing their argument: "but boooooooooosh!".
