An LCD doesn't really need a refresh rate byeond 60Hz, as even the fastest ones can't physically update the screen faster than that. Don't worry about refresh rate when considering an LCD. Instead, worry about:
*a low pixel response (aim for 16ms for gaming)
*DVI input (especially for 12x10 or higher)
*a reasonable dead pixel policy
*a video card fast enough to game at the LCD's native resolution (to avoid scaling/cropping)
*acceptable viewing angle (good catch, Vian)
I don't know much about the current LCD market, but that Tatung doesn't look great to me: ugly bezel, only analog input, merely acceptable pixel response (25ms). Even the price seems unexceptional. (IIRC, Dell sales put their well-reviewed 16ms 1701FP near $350 territory.) If you can get a 19" CRT for much less, you might be better off. Wait for more knowledgable answers, though.
