If you want to express yourself, buy a flashy shirt or a new hat. At least you can take it off at the end of the day.

I find about $80 an hour locally in my area. Last one I got was $80, took just under an hour. Got my first one 10 years ago and no regrets.

no way you are crazy! i have 4 tats, 3 on my left arm and one on my back going down my spine, i paid $65, $100, $100, and $500. Even a really good place here in LA would charge about $80 for that in that size, the minimum is $50-60 for a tat, so add abother $20 because of the shading, if they want to gouge it a bit ok $100 before tip, but not $150+

freakin GOOD cuz i dont have that kind of cash! LOL. But i dont understand why my first one was so expensive...i mean its just a turquoise blue outlined in black....you'd think that the more color there is, the more expensive it would be right?

the mroe colors there are the more expensive it is yes, because for one they have to open more than 1 ink well and thought hey aren't expensive they add tot he cost,a nd two because they have to change the needle for each color which adds tot he time and the cleanup.
I don't knwo why your first one cost a lot since there isn't any shading. shading adds mroe cost than anything. Also your place might charge a lot so many expect 100-120

a bit.
Having a good printout of the tat and knowing where you want it might reduce the price since less work on their part. Also if you do get to print it out try and make sure the print is the exact size youw ant it so they won't have to scan/resize/add to cost.
Just keep in mind you get what you pay for, very true with tats =
