Tatoo question

I think I'm gonna get myself a tatoo one of these days. Probably not in the very near future, but I was thinking within a year or two. I'd like to get the AC/DC lightning tatooed on my upper right arm. Maybe later I'd get the letters AC and DC done around the lightning.

Anyway I'm 21 and I was wondering what happens when your arms grow bigger with age? Does the tatoo stretches or it's just new skin?

Does the AC/DC mean your a switch hitter??

Or the band AC/DC??

You might want to rethink the tattoo

Argument I heard tonight against getting a tattoo:

"When I'm 80, that rose on my tit will look like a gunshot wound."

What's wrong with that?
AC/DC represents all the fun I had in my late teen years. And most important, it represents my friends (we all love AC/DC). I've been listening to like at least 2 hours of AC/DC each week for the last 6 years and I still had goosebumps yesterday when I watched the show in Toronto. I've thought about it and I'm not gonna regret my decision.

Anyway that wasn't my question.

Forget the arm tatt. Get your entire back done in a massive AC/DC tatt! You would definately be the coolest person ever.

Ah come on. Why do you have to sh!t on me. Geez, I want a tatoo done, that's it. I think it's better than those freaking chinese letters and other stuff like that. I want something that will represent me, that's all.

you think an ac/dc tatt would represent u? Maybe if you were in ac/dc this would be acceptable. I have nothing against getting a tatt (I have one myself) but you really need to rethink the ac/dc tatt. However, if you were just to get the lightning bolt I think it would be ok. But in 20 years do you really want to tell people what that bolt represents?

Hey man, I have a band name tattooed on my back for the same basic reasons. It doesn't represent the band, but their music played an important role in some of the best years of my life. Sure, their drummer hung himself 6 months later and the band broke up, but that doesn't change what the tat means to me (which is who I got it for).

Anyway, to your real question, I'm not 80 yet, so I don't know for sure, but if you take proper care of your tattoo, it should be fine.

i suggest H-A-T-E across the knuckles on 1 hand and L-O-V-E across the other hand. this will really make the right impression when you go for that job interview!

When I say upper arm, I mean it in a way so it cannot be seen with regular clothes. I'm not decided between the arm and the upperback, just below the neck

seen all kinds of tattoos in all locations and sizes, ect.. Some were tasteful, others were obnoxious, but they all reflected a desire by the person to make a statement. Is this something that is important to you, or as a visual statement for others to see??? If it's a statement that reminds you of something important, then location and construction isn't important; the memory is. But based on that, perhaps a small tattoo that isn't highly visible will still give you the link you want, but also give you more options down the road if you wish to change your mind. If you are making a statement that you want others to see, go with the "AC/DC" and let them come up with their own conclusions.

Getting a tattoo is nearly the same as getting a certain style of haircut that is permanent; imagine having your hair cut in one particular style, then having to live it with it for the rest of your life. Yes, i have a tattoo, but it's smaller then a dime and located on the side of my finger; it's a reminder for me of a particular time in my life that is special for me. Lol, would love to talk with you in 20 years and get your feedback. Mine was done in '85 and i've never regretted it, but 99.9% of people never even know it's there because it was made for me.

good luck grass hopper

I am starting to regret my New Kid's on the Block tat I got back in the late 80's. I thought that band would be around forever, they were so young and hip, but here I am stuck with a New Kid's mural on my chest. :(
