On my rig, TAT always shows my core temps to be about 15*c or so higher then what is shown by Speedfan and CoreTemp. For example, right now, Speedfan and CoreTemp show 27*c for core 1, while TAT is showing 43*. Under load, for example while running Orthos blend test, Speedfan and CoreTemp show temps up to around 55*c, while TAT's temps get above 70*c.

TAT reads TJunction, Speedfan reads TCase. TJunction is about 15C higher than TCase on average. Either way those temps are too high. You want to keep your TJunction temps below 65 and TCase below 50. Are you on stock cooling?

Stock Intel heatsink/fan with AS5 paste.

Maybe its not seated properly. When putting it on, I could only get the little black pins to go about half-way down the length of the white pins they stick into. Should the black pins go down as far as the white pins maybe??

Also, Core Temp shows Tjunction idling at 85*?!?! (TAT shows idle around 46*c)

Not sure about the stock HSF because I've never used them. I can tell you this, if you're OCing an e4300 past 2.4Ghz you want to get an aftermarket HSF so that is you're biggest problem right there. As for Coretemp's Tjunction, that is just the value that is assigned as the maximum temperature before the computer will shutdown. That is the same temperature on every machine, it's there by default.
