The weapons and armour includes everything at your disposoal. IT HAS TO BE A MEELEE WEAPON. NO arrows and javelin or like.

You can use any sword, long sword, broad sword, Katana.

Do you think you can take down the bear?
Inspired by the other bear thread

A huge battering ram rigged up to release by cutting a rope does the trick.

Is there a buffet line nearby? If so, I'd throw (at him) all the food and run away as fast as I can :p

with a flail. or a spear/pitchfork/thresher/any melee weapon that gives you maximum range.

I would prefer a lightweight flail though. good range, versatile, one whack to the head and you're in business. + you can run around

I can kill a bear with a sharp stick.

When the bear comes up on hind legs, you put sharp stick on ground with sharp point going up.. When he comes down to attack, he will stab himself.

I sold D2 LOD a few weeks back. I'm done with that game. 3 years of my life is enough for one title.

Lets just say the stick doesn't fall over, or the bear doesn't go around the stick, or knock it out of the way, it has down syndrome and it automagically worked.

... when the Grizzly is initally stabbed, did you think it'll just fall over and collapse?

Heh...

so we can conclude that medieval weapons are more effective than modern firearms in this situation

Providing that I had advanced training in the use of figthing and throwing axes and that I also had some giant muscles to handle a 75 lb double edged steel fighting axe. Then yes, I could maybe take a large bear down with a singular throwing axe and a melee axe.

Considering a grizzly bears skull can deflect certain bullets, I don't think a good whack from a flail would do all that much.

Is a modified potato gun type of weapon considered a firearm? How about a flamethrower?

Two fire extinguishers- Halon, and ABC dry chemical. The ABC to the face will piss it off a lot if I get a lucky shot, maybe piss it off enough that it will wait a few seconds thinking about how it's going to tear me to shreds that I can get an accurate blast of halon to the face, effectively removing the oxygen from the bear's lungs, causing it to suffocate. Hopefully the blindness induced by the ABC extinguisher will allow me to evade it's attacks until it dies or passes out.

So a bear's eyes can deflect bullets and flails also?

You honestly expect to be able to shoot or hit a grizzly bear directly in the eyeball? Not to mention a bullet through the eye is not a definite kill shot on a grizzly. The best you could hope for with the grizzly charging you is a shot off the top or side of the skull.
