Hello Recently I discovered this strange problem on my computer that has XP pro on it. The problem is for some reason when I create a scheduled job to run at a certain time it does not run at all no matter if it?s a simple as running for example calc.exe. Then if I try to have it run manually for the scheduled tasks window it will not run the first time I select run from the drop down box when you right click on the job and doesnt cough out an error in the log. The second time however it executes and runs fine.
I notice when I have it set to run at it scheduled time it leaves an error in the error log example:
"putty.job" (putty.exe) 8/1/2004 3:52:00 PM ** ERROR **
The attempt to log on to the account associated with the task failed, therefore, the task did not run.
Verify that the task's Run-as name and password are valid and try again.
This is very strange because I have the task setup to run as the administrative user I am logged on with and the password I use and have checked multiple times to make sure its correct. I have all the latest critical patches applied to my system from windows update, scanned for viruses with updated pattern files, and used ad aware to check for spyware and such with its latest definitions. I have found nothing that can indicate to be the cause of this. Any Ideas of what the problem might be?
