Task Manager nor regedit will stay open for more than 3 seconds. I am running windows XP SP1 on a vaio laptop. I have just run trend micro's online virus scan nothing. I am worried the dent in the wall is going to be huge! From my banging my skull repeatedly against it.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Run drwtsn32 -i from the run line. This will install Dr. Watson as the default debugger.

Run drwtsn32 without the -i to bring up the GUI. Ensure you check "visual notification."

Then see if you get a Dr. Watson popup when these apps close. If you do, there's something wrong with the apps or, more likely, the files they depend on.

If you're not getting a Dr. Watson, some other app is telling these apps to close.

its a virus, but i dont understand why no one has added to their list yet.

to fix, goto safe mode and remove c:\windows\system32\msconfig32.exe

also look for tftpXXX file and webdav.exe in your startup menu.
this been out for weeks already and i am also lookin for a antivirus vendor that detect this. this virus appeared when the RPC exploit came out, but before msblast.

From the file name sounds like W32.Tulu, there has been NAV defs for it since December.
