Task Info is showing program "office.exe" taking up 90% of my CPU but I don't see it anywhere HELp

do a search as to the location of the file. Could theoretically be some kind of virus that is named something legit. Also, try ending that task and see what happens.

Taskinfo tells you what directory it is coming from ,so where is it coming from?

BTW ,the other day notepad.exe (I think that right!)on my fathers Athlon 700 also took 90%+ of cpu time!!L:Q ,was OK after I terminated it

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR:| ,that damn notepad.exe turned out to be a VIRUS ,some kind of back door virus:|.
It's a fresh install too & hadn't yet imaged the HDD ,we're checking it now to see what,if any damage has been caused.My brothers PC which was linked to my fathers 1 has it too .
Anyone got any info on it?

I updated AVP & it had that virus in its database.

The notepade virus might be the worm virus using the DNet client. A friend found that on his machnes at work. Check DNet's .finger section for details onthe virus and how to get rid of it.
