I suggested two new projects for the list. NFS@Home and EDGes@Home. See other forum.

I voted for Malaria Control before the 2 new options were posted. For me, Malaria Control, Leiden Classical, and NFS are all sitting at the 50K milestone and I will be happy to crunch any of those. EDGes will be at the 100K milestone in a few days, and I would be happy to continue on that one.

Also, we could try to get both NFS and EDGeS to 1M each for the TeAm milestones.

We do need more votes! So, click on something!

Wow, Neurodog blew by me in the boinc overall while I was crunching FAH last month!!:eek:

Nice crunching Neurodog and congrats on the 10 mill milestone! :)

I'll crunch NFS@home & SIMAP this month. I may toss 4 cores on EDGES if I get bored!

NFS does very well on linux 64 bit but uses a lot of RAM (just under 400 MB per core).

I did take advantage of your absence from Boinc! ;)

I would vote for Malariacontrol since it's one of my all-time favorite projects. However, the last several times that I have tried to run it, it failed to work properly on any of my machines (it sits at 0% progress no matter how long I let it sit, up to as much as three weeks on one machine, and rebooting/restarting BOINC/resetting the project has no effect). So I voted for NFS instead simply because I haven't done anything with that one yet...

Hmm, I am running this project just now - without any problems. This sounds interesting.
Please tell me: what error messages - if any? CPU? RAM? OS? Do the comps run other BOINC-projects OK?

No errors, the project just doesn't ever update anything although it does use 100% of the CPU when the systems are idle. All computers are running XP Pro except one Vista Home Premium machine and an SBS 2003 server. Many different CPU's. Mostly Intel P4 and Core 2 Duo, with some AMD thrown in, as well as the P4 Xeon server. All computers have at least 2 GB of RAM, some have 4 GB. They run all other BOINC projects that I have tried with no problems.

I'm not sure, but it's possible that it is related to the BOINC client version. All of my computers are running versions 5.10.30 and 5.10.45 since I cannot run BOINC unless it is running as a "hidden" service with no trace of the client in the system tray (otherwise people mess with it), and no version after 5.10.45 will let me do that.

SIMAP WUs are available! I'm in for 50% of my cores. :)

I'm in with 100% because I don't fool around!

Looks like it will be a short session, a couple of days at most. They're already sending out batch 3/4.

I switched over to NFS because Malaria uses too much memory and I was getting a lot of swapping.

Malaria uses too much memory?! NFS uses 0.5-1GB per core!
