Hi guys,

Yes, back from my holiday with my little one. Very nice. Had a wonderful time with her - all she wanted to do was be with 'myne daddy' (my daddy)...

Machines had shut down. This damn earth leakage. Too scared to bypass it on the machines only. So, I lost quite a bity of produciton. Lets see if I can catch up.

Welcome back, Perry!

Has anyone noticed the big push by SETI.USA! Their total production is awesome! They already have 4 in the top 20 RAC!

I just got two red down-arrows, one for world position and one for team position. They were caused by a teammate! There ought to be some rules against that!:disgust:

Wait a minute! I'm part of the Mini-Race... Oh, never mind!

Congratulations, Jim, on taking over second place on the RCN team!

News from RCN:

June 23, 2007
Good good good news: 2 x Xeon 3.4 GHz, 5 x SCSI 146 GB, 4 GB RAM, ... Yes, due to the successs of RCN we managed to get a second server. It is already in my office and awaits its boincification. It will be used as server for our upcoming project ''SUDOKU'' where we will search for the smallest possible start configuration of the game. The tests for the new project might start in one or two weeks. I will keep you informed. Btw: Our users have established a new record: Yesterday they contributed 3 cpu years!

Good for them ... and great achievement for the crunchers! :D

RCN - that purpose I can understand - but the "smallest possible start configuration" for Soduku? I love that game and am quite good at it, but what is the use for finding the smallest possible start configuration? I hope there is one ... otherwise that will be one of the project I'll only try.

I'd try the suduko project. Heck, I crunch chess960@home right now. Wish I could put more crunching power into it.

Hmmm, I just looked ...

Here is some typical Trivial Persuit - knowledge...

1. TAS has crunched 26 unique projects so far.
2. TAS has crunched F@H two times and DPAD two times: in both these projects the second crunching was due to races.
3. Only in 4 months (out of 35) no official projects were crunched.
4. TAS has had two BOINC-months - where each member ran at least two BOINC-projects.
5. 10 of the projects TAS has crunched were not BOINC-projects, 16 were (hmmm consequently ... ) BOINC-projects.

6. There are 64 TAS-members.
7. On the TAS-site, TAS-members have posted 2619 posts in 167 threads.
8. Usually 11 - 25 members crunch a project for a month; most often the hard core of TAS is 11 members.
9. The fun TAS-members have is measured in Tera-tons ...
10. The crunching power is unknown, as most of the TAS-members either have not posted or recently updated their notes on CPUs and their frequency, or the Dhrystones, Whetstones or gemstones ... ;)

:D :) :p :) :D

Now: why does Petrus post such stats?

Because TAS is crunching it's 36th month in July 2007 and because in August TAS will have its 3-year jubilee!

We need to think about some kind of celebration ...
