Just to let you know: applications exist for Win XP, Linux and Mac OS-X. :D

Edit: To reflect caferace post: Mac-OS-X for intel only! not for Motorolas processors.

OSX Intel only. So, the random Macs here will idle. It's too hot anyway, and the wife would give me the evil eye if I light up her powerbook. ;)

4 quick-ish boxen on RCN, more to follow if it behaves. Maybe the PIII troops will get to play, though I can't test them 'til Monday..

8 members are on the team list. Some are also powerful crunchers.

At least I will try ... :D

You got a race, Rudy Toody! Starting date: June 1, 2007. Starting stats:

Name __________ Credits _______ RAC ___
Rudy Toody: ___ 66 524.32 ____ 1 952.52 __
Petrusbroder: ___ 1 065.15 ______ 23.25 ___

Comparison: production in June, production/week, credits ...
If you want some other comparisons, just let me know! ;)

I need a good race for motivation ...

Well, it looks like we have the AC situation under control at the house, and we have come to an understand with our roommate (who is upstairs in the office), so I should be able to start crunching on my main rig tonday! YAY.

I'll change projects and set this up in about 3 hours. ;)

I think I have recruited a new member. He said he used to do Seti. He said he'd sign up today. I don't know what handle he will be using. It's a PIII laptop that he never shuts down.

Every little bit (and byte) counts!

But of course. :)

I may have a bit of a slow start, burning off the last of the WCG WU's, but I'm in.

I like slow starts by the competition!

I have a nice prize for the winner. I'm going to try my best to keep it.

I'm gonna get passed up so fast by all of you :p I have one core duo @ 2.16 ghz crunching this, and its on a laptop with a dead battery. So when the power goes out 3 times a day it just sits there.

Hopefully the replacement battery shows up soon!

Well, as you mentioned, the reason is that our mini-team (TAS i.e. Team Anandtech Sentinels) crunch a project for a month and then move on to the next ... It is a way to learn about the projects, to have fun, to have small races and not to get bored ... At some time point most of us decide an a favorite project (mine is Seti@home), dedicate some (or most) of the available resources for that and crunch other projects with only one part of the total resources. Other just continue with TAS and project jumping for a long time ...

Sorry we did not make this evident before.

Thanks for crunching with us, we enjoyed it a lot.
Good luck and good crunching with XS and please drop in for a nef or chat now and then.
You are always welcome back ... we keep the porch light on for you (and other crunchers who now and then change teams),

Here are the stats for the ongoing mini race:

Credits ______ Production __ Name
June 3 ________ in June
70 128.71 _____ 3 950.75 ___ Rudy Toody
_3 722.94 _____ 3 712.73 ___ caferace
_2 708.86 _____ 1 643.71 ___ Petrusbroder

Rudy Toody is starting well - has the highest production and credits.
How this may change we will see soon - caferace is often slow in starting, but when he engages the small computers - the ones running Win XPe - this may become a very intense race ...
Petrus has engaged most of his computers just yesterday evening. He is also sad to note that most of his Macs (4 x PPC G4 and 2 x PPC G5 cores) can not contribute because they are not Intel-CPUs ... :(

Next stats update in a few days ... or when the numbers require it ... :D

I think the mini-race is so tight that the stats should be done hourly, 24/7. At least until I'm passed. Then I'll have a second thread to ignore.

You are not all "retarded" - it seems that the WUs are all generated on Wednesdays and that they sometimes do not suffice until next release ... :(

I have similar experience - it is good to have a second project as a spare.

w00t! Besides the PIII army, I also have 6 "normal" fast cores at work, currently crunching WCG and various other projects. So, we'll see what happens tomorrow.... :D

We're showing great production! We're almost matching the Russian team, who were twice our production when we started!

We have 50% active members (12/24), which is terrific! It would be even better if we could wake up a few of the others!
