I have already switched: it is so easy: change the resource share for rosetta@home from 400 to 50 and for seti@home from 50 to 400. That's it. I just love it! :D

Then good - but will it happen before December 1?

In the long run, I think that most projects, who want a broad base of crunchers - will go "BOINC-ers" - it makes the administration, the switching, the correction of problems so much easier - it is really a infrastructure for DC. :)

[slightly off topic]
However, we - the crunchers - have to beware of projects which are not serious, which want to make money for something that is given (i.e. our time, electricity, use of the comps). If there is an easy infrastructure, then all will use it -- good and bad... [End off topic]

BTW: I will wait for a couple more days with the stats on Rosetta@home, so that pending credits from the monthly project will be non-pending. That takes 3 days at most (in my experience), often only ione or two days. :)

Is there actually something like pending credit in R@H? I thought that doesn't exist with R@H and all WUs are credited right away, as they're only sent out to one PC and only in case of deadline/error to another.

i have to say, maybe its because i'm not used to it, but boinc is annoying the hell outta me.

i think i have it switched over to seti, only 2 cores, but whats with the keys? am i supposed to get a new one for every project i run?

Pending Credit is not turned on in Rosetta. All credit is instant.

The keys? Yes, a new one each project. Or with v. 5 a username/password. Just think if it was not BOINC, then it would be a new client along with the key. :)

Did the WUs change from Classic to BOINC in a way that they contain more data and are longer? On my PIII 600 it looks like I need around 9 hours for a WU with BOINC but that one used to finish a SETI Classic WU much faster IIRC. Could that be?

The current "official" SETI@Home/BOINC-application is comparable speed-wise to v3.08-cmd. But, you can also download an optimized application, and these is 25%-50% faster than v3.03-cmd, depending on cpu. :)

The size of the wu is the same, but it's a different header under BOINC. Not sure if the client crunches the wu exactly the same way, but the end-result should atleast be the same, a spike is a spike is a spike...

But, this will "soon" change, when Seti_Enhanced is released, doing much more detailed crunching. Also, while speed-difference under v3.03-winnt-cmd is upto 50%, under Seti_Enhanced it's expected upto 15x difference between slowest at angle-range 0.226, and fastest at angle-range 1.14 or higher...

Any idea where I can get one of these optimized clients from? I did a search around the net but only found optimized clients for BOINC 4.xx

OK, which team do I join?
There are like three teams "Anandtech"

EDIT:
I don't see an optimized client for LV Xeon. Can I use the one for P4?
