Opty 148, 2GB RAM, 74GB Raptor. I picked the parts, she built it. If her machine crunches more than mine, I'm turning hers off.

*Threatens to put pennies in the dual Xeon's PCI-X slots if it doesn't crunch faster*

Chuckle. :D

Actually, this had me curious:

CPU type AuthenticAMD
AMD Processor Model Unknown

I wonder why it doesn't know it's an Opty...

I believe it is due to the mobo BIOS revision not recognizing the CPU. And it hasn't caused any problems, and research indiciated that it wasn't a big deal, so we didn't mess with it. EDIT: Windows actually reports the same thing, BTW.

2006-05-26 14:36:35 UTC Work generation suspended
Work generation has been temporarily suspended due to ongoing server performance problems. Only workunits that end with error or expire will be reissued for now.
The problems occur because the database has outgrown installed memory size. If you can spare some money for memory upgrade, please visit donation page.

This is on the main page for PrimeGrid.

Hi there, back again.
BTW nobody reminded me that the voting is due again ...

I'll put up a poll @ TAS soon ... very soon - in an hour or two or so ...

Think, ponder and when the poll comes, vote, my friends!

The conspiracy theorist in me thinks this most recent server status definitely has something to do with our[TA/TAS] threatening to take away first place. :Q ;)

@ networkman, caferace, amdxborg:

:) :D yeah, it would not be the first time, nor the last. :D :) :p
But it is good for alpha- and beta-testing sites: we give them a real world test and a push for the first place ...

I have 3050 credits pending and work for a day or two (i.e. until monday on most computers and sunday on some).
I have also restarted my seti@home - where I have fallen below my minimum-production limit ... so please expect my production to drop - oh lets say in 2 - 3 days or so ;).

For me it is also time to wind down PrimeGrid - only 3 dyas left of May... I will not stay with them now that I have done a decryptation project once. I prefer the life-science, physical science or astronomical science a lot more ...

;) We have brought it down - now totally. What will happen when all the crunched results will pour in later? ;)

The stats will not be based on PrimeGrids real-time data but on other stats-sites 3 - 24 hours old data.
OTOH: Lets hope the database comes up before thursday - that is when the crunching for TAS ends and tha final stats are due!

Here are the current stats for the passed week of crunching!
And the stats are based on the real time stats from the PrimeGrid site!

Some numbers:

In the passed 27.5 days TAS has produced 240 032.41 credits, that is 8 728.45 credits/day. In this pace, TAS will produce a approximately 270 000 credits in the month of May. I think that this is still an overestimate, since the production of WUs is closed down just now, and since most of the TAS:ers will run out of WUs within a day or two ...

The RAC is still climbing: from 3 636.01 to 4 605.12 (four weeks ago), 6 182.67 (three week ago), 8 310.49 (one week ago), and to an astonishing 9 822.04 today (+ 170%).

As of today, TA has produced 276 419 credits in the month of May. It is reasonable to assume, that we - in the remaining 4 days of May can produce at least 25 000 more credits (unless all WU generation is off until the end of May) and thus reach the unimagined goal of 300 000 credits prodced in May. Considering the caches of WUs present in TAS, this is still possible ... If the production of WUs starts again we may even produce more ...

The team-stats:
Sorted according to credits:
Rank ___ Members _____ RAC ________ Credits ______ Name ______________ credits added in May
1 _______ 32 ______ 1 014.38 ___ 1 068 506.33 ___ BOINC@Heidelberg ___ (+ 27 265.41)
2 _______ 27 _____ 11 327.44 ___ 1 043 419,06 ___ Team Anandtech _____ (+273 678.97)
3 ______ 135 ______ 1 464.24 _____ 988 325.81 ___ BOINC Synergy ______ (+ 36 186.83)
4 ________ 3 ________ 143.23 _____ 942 624.67 ___ Team Alienware _____ (0)
5 _______ 14 ________ 612.74 _____ 378 938.68 ___ Picard _____________ (+ 15 727.35)
6 _______ 23 ______ 2 259.94 _____ 355 152,98 ___ AMD Users __________ (+ 53 058.02)

Team Anandtech @ Primegrid has produced more than twice (2.069) as many credits than the other top 5 teams together. TAS alone has produced 107 794.66 more credits than the other teams together! TAS produces just now 87.7% of all TA's credits ...

I'm just about out of PG work units.. a couple machines have like 6 or 7 more and then I'm out. At that point, I'll switch to another project.. probably Leiden - it's pretty stable and plays nicely with the Chess960 project. :)

I'm switching some of my machines back to QMC, we are still in the top spot there and I'm hoping to add to our lead!!!

The probelm with Leiden just now is that they do not have account creation open --- I was hoping to attach and to be able to crunch a few WUs before decideing my vote in the poll. They will open the account creations as soon as they have got their new server up and running - so lets keep our eyes open, fingers crossed and hope they succeed before May is over :)

Do not give up, TAS- and TA-mates: now and then the scheduler squirts out WUs in PrimeGrid - three of my comps just got some 60 WUs --- probably "expired-deadline" but still, they need to be crunched and give credits ... :)

Yeah - alot of them! :)

So: lets now give the project a final rush - if we crunch diligently we will reach the top rank: it is only some 16 000 credits away - no more than two days of crunching!

More More More and MORE! ;)

The poll has been reset - because of more or less sudden problems. Please vote again - and read the top post for explanation. Thanks for your patience!
