Tarver vs Hopkins

One of my buddies is a boxing fanatic. He says he'd put money on Hopkins.

We'll see what the outcome is though.

Looks to be the final round of Hopkins career. Great way to end his great career with a 12 round unanimous victory.

Hopkins gets faster and faster as rounds go by, unbeliveable for someone his age. For someone as young as tarver he should be faster then hopkins, but he isnt. And his face shows it.

And hopkins just won the decision.

This was his last fight?!? Noooooooo!

well one things for sure, tarver is out 250K for agreeing to stipulation that if he doesn't stop hopkins by the 6th round he'd give hopkins 250K which will be going to his charity.

If he just defeated a very strong competitor at the top of his class who was even expected to win, why would he end his career now?

Hopkins apparently promised to his mom that he would have stopped fighting by 40. He's 41 currently and his mom passed away a while ago. During his pre and post bout interviews, he has said this is his final fight, but who knows.

After the fight, he was asked if this was truly his final fight, for which he made a minimum of $5 million. He left a slight opening. What if someone offered him $20 million to fight again, he was asked.

"Well, I might come out of my grave for that kind of money," Hopkins said.

Hopkins is one of the greatest middleweight boxers in the world. To move up two weight classes to light heavyweight and win the belt in the last fight of his career is the stuff legends are made of. Can't wait for the replay on HBO this Saturday!
