Interesting- Either these guys don't hide very well, or Iraqi citizens are turning these guys in left and right.

Definately up there- I wonder which card he was? King of something, probably. He might have some idea what happened to Saddam.

I just checked my cards and he is only the 8 of spades. Seems like he shouhd have been higher

He is great for intelligence purposes, but I doubt he personally took part in serious human rights crimes against the Iraqis like many of the military pesonnel. The Military Personnel and direct family are probably the big fish.

EDIT... for my stupidity The 8 of Spades is the 7th highest man on the list ...

so what does it mean for the people who the US catches?

i mean, it was saddam who was suppose to turn himself over/surrender right?

these 55+ people, whats in store for them?

it's not like they are WANTED by the UN/Internetational community. they're not international criminals. hell, the reason the US raped their country was because it was believed they had WMDs, but NOTHING at all has been found.

what can the US do to them?

right the US raped their country. what a joke that statement is. Iraq was very well raped long before the US arrived.

I don't understand how they can try these people for war crimes when the United Nations is against the war. I bet he turned himself in because he knows that the war tribunal won't convict him.

Well I think that once there is a goverment in place in Iraq he will be turned over to the court there and they will deal with him, not kindly either.
He has a ton of information, he knows all the deals made with other countries, (France, Germany, Russia, Syria, and maybe even China. and maybe even a few in England. I think that he had a lot to do with decisions relating to the oil for food program and what happend to the money. That was his job, a good catch for us.

Barney, perhaps you should study history a little more.

Iraq was in two wars before this.

There are at least 600 Kuwaitis still missing from the 91 war. They were taken out of Kuwait into Iraq there to simply disapear.

Then there are these stories.

'Mass grave' found in Iraq

Unnamed Iraqi graves found

But how is Tariq Aziz (a foreign minister whose job was to travel abroad) responsible for what the military does? It's not like he gave orders.

He has been by Saddams side in the Baath party since the 60's I believe. You don't become the 8th man on our hitlist if your a nice person. You also do not gain such high favor from Saddam himself if your a nice person.

He was the 43rd person out of 55. Many people in the west viewed Tariq Aziz as the nice guy of the regime and was even thought to be a potential candidate to rule Iraq in the future. How do you know Saddam doesn't like nice people? Some of you are really dissecting this way too much.

Just the opposite- the reason why Saddam cozied up to Tariq was that he was no threat to him- He was one of the only Christian leaders in Saddam's regime. In a nation populated by mostly Shiite Moslems he wouldn't have much support.
