I’ll be honest this is one area where Trump has the right idea, if previously mentioned car stereo should be $300 but China does some shenanigans to sell it for $200 they really should be tarriffed (is that a word?) to $300.
Problem is like nearly everything else the President does he has no plan, spent little time making processes or thinking about his next step and will collapse the second he gets offered a few dollars to make the tariffs go away.

I forgot.
Fuck the small scale farmers and production workers. You guys voted for this shit, deal with it. I don’t want to hear you crying about it. No handouts either because you’ll just cast another retarded vote in 2020.

The car stereo thing would only apply if they gained unfair advantage over domestic producers. They were gone a long time ago, iirc.

That’s the point, bring back domestic production or at minimum have it go to Mexico, at least Mexico isn’t claiming Islands and engaging in Cyber activities against us.
Shit it would likely help with immigration too.
Before you say it yes I know there would be pain. I’m sure we could deal with a few years of pain at this moment.

Summary as I said earlier, the President isn’t too far off (in my opinion) he’s just doing it without a plan or a path forward.

This is like saying I would save a lot of money by not buying anything from the grocery store.

There are no words to capture the full magnitude of Trump’s stupidity.

Maybe somebody should try explaining it to him in the context of his huge trade imbalance with KFC. Veeeeery slowly and with lots of pictures.

Correct but that should be the true price and that is the price that can support US/responsible production.
Moving an entire supply chain and manufacturing base probably isn't going to happen just because of increased cost unless that increased cost is prohibitive.

We all buy too much cheap crap and throw it out too soon
It's going to be the same cheap crap, your just going to be paying more for it. Or it's going to be a lot crapper as the big American buyers specify cheaper components in a bit to preserve margins.

Cheap crap that doesn’t support China annexing islands and being a general pain in the ass.
I agree and would buy.

We're going to end up in the nightmare scenario of a major recession and he's bullied the fed into cutting rates to nearly zero through trade idiocy aren't we.

Haha I can envision it
Dear leader, right now you have 8 pieces of chicken in your bucket and 23 large fries plus 48 ounces of Diet Coke.
To continue having the same thing it will now cost you $1.88 more for the same meal or you can have 7 pieces of chicken and 23 tiny fries with a 32 ounce Diet Coke for the same cost.

Trump is already overpaying farmers for their trade war losses in order to secure their votes next year. De Blasio’s an epic windbag, but he was right about one thing—Trump is the real socialist.

The big farms are reaping most of that aid, smaller operations that lack resources already are increasingly screwed. It's pretty uneven.

You understand that China doesn't pay that extra $100 the American buying it does? Or the Americans dont buy it and the car stereo salesmen goes out of business.
Our lard ass orange orangutan still believes that China, pays the tariffs.
I think Larry Kurdow tried to explain it to the dumb ass, but he doesn't believe it.
He thinks China writes a check/or pays, our Treasury,
This fucker is dumber than a bag of hammers. (no offense to hammers)

WTF do we care about the Spratly islands? We have no claim there. Nobody lived there until the Chinese expanded shoals into islands.

Badmouthing them is stupid. Their govt has transformed China over the last 40 years. Their products penetrate nearly every market in the world. Their investment in education, infrastructure, research & all the rest of it is huge. Hundreds of millions of people have been lifted out of poverty. It works for them & makes them a force with whom we must deal honestly. We can't bully them the way we can with Venezuela, Mexico or Canada. They'll tell us to fuck right off if it comes to that-

I'm sure in tonight's rally he'll be talking about how much CHIIINA is paying into the treasury and all the plebes watching lap it up.

I've said it before, but there will be a winner in this trade war...Vietnam. There should be enough time between the massive increasing investments being made now there and the impending recession that they'll experience some pain but come out all the better.

oh and my favorite is "dumber than a bag of barber hair"...which I think is even more appropriate in his case.

Somebody really needs to explain to Trump with pictures and hand puppets that tariffs are NOT a source of income.

Unfortunately, he will still say he doesn't believe it.
Last week, the state run, TV network said that Biden was 10 points ahead him in the poll.
And this was a fox poll. He just flat out said he doesn't believe it.

This mofo doesn't believe in facts that do not support what he says/thinks.
i.e. Yes, he's a moron.

Neil Cavuto called out cheeto for the tariffs.
Fox News Host Neil Cavuto Tells Viewers Trump Is Wrong: ‘China Isn’t Paying These Tariffs. You Are.’

https://www.yahoo.com/news/fox-news-host-neil-cavuto-211251762.html

This is cheeto telling the people on Friday
"“Remember this, our country is taking in billions and billions of dollars from China,” Trump exclaimed. “We never took in ten cents from China. Out of that many billions of dollars, we’re taking a part of it and giving it to the farmers because they’ve been targeted by China. The farmers, they come out totally whole.” "

Cavuto refutes the cheeto's bullshit with:
“I don’t know where to begin here,” the Fox News host said. “Just to be clarifying, China isn’t paying these tariffs. You are. You know, indirectly and sometimes directly.”
He continued: “It’s passed along to you through American distributors and their counterparts in the United States that buy this stuff from the Chinese and have to pay the surcharges. Not the Chinese government.”

Tweetstorm calling Cavuto, low IQ, misinformed and not very smart in 3,2,1....................

It was perfectly obvious by 1971 that the Nationalists would never take back the mainland. Not a fucking chance in Hell. They lost the civil war in 1949 because they were brutally corrupt & callously inept. The only thing that propped them up after they fled to Taiwan was an enormous amount of US aid. And thuggery, of course-

The only reason Mao was not wiped out was because USA did not want to piss off USSR.

Chiang Kai Shek was a strongman, just like Mao. But there are degrees.

<--- Taiwanese.
