Targets return policy

My 360 is on the fritz -- No RROD, but it's not doing well. I would like to return it, but I'm over the 90 day limit for in-store returns for Target. I told this to a friend, and he said he returned his X360 to BestBuy nearly a year after buying it. He said that "all of those stores" have some type of deal with Microsoft allowing this.

Anyone know if this is true?
