Hmm, all I managed to get out of this, is that test tube babies equals the gay and Target is God? So we need to start worshiping Target and jacking into a test tube to be gay? I'm so confused.

I'm not sure why you're confused... sounds like you pretty much nailed it.

If you look at the divorce rate among married straights, the result is often sad, so yes I guess.

I'm sure that when same-sex marriage is such an accepted and mundane institution that gets as much representation among LGBs as straight people they'll get to enjoy the privilege of similar levels of ending up miserable and divorced.

Exactly. I don't understand why so many people are trying to keep same-sex marriage from being legal. Aside from the stupid ass Christian fundies, what other group is pushing to keep SSM from being legal?

It isn't as much fun as "the straights" will make one think it is. Except for tax and medical benefits, stay together as an umarried couple. Lot less messy than a divorce if the time comes to split apart from each other.

It's sad on my part for Sportage. He might actually be posting relevant information but I just never read his posts because of the format in which he types. As soon as I see his post, I immediately go to the next one. I can't be the only one here that finds his posting style odd and off-putting.
Yeah . . . wouldn't want anything odd and off-putting in P&N. lol

There's something to be said for commitment. Tax benefits (if only one works) are nice too. Prolly most of all, just being treated like everyone else.

If you say you are married, what does that mean in regards to sexual orientation. Nothing, and that's great for those who don't care to let everyone know that.

I totally agree - we should all be working to get to a point where marriage is unrelated to sexual orientation and it's not even a thing to question.

Look I think this kind of stuff is great but why do we have to have certain people's sexuality shoved in ours and ours kids faces?
I know, you see magazine covers and things on store shelves out in the open and suddenly you have to explain to you kids about affairs, cocaine, divorce, lube, sex tapes, rape, orgies, and swag.

And now you have to explain mother-flippin' rainbows to your kids?!

I actually bought some for my boys. Their teachers gave me weird looks but hey, they like rainbows :)

I hear you though on the cocaine and other stuff though, have to draw the line somewhere lol.

Ain't reality a bitch? What benefit is it to them to be hidden from reality, to put them in this little bubble of your own making? You want them to get educated by their own peers? Because they'll find out about it all somehow, often without all the facts and being fully educated on all that helps their judgements. It also satisfies their curiosity which if it's not satisfied, can lead to some bad ways to learn about it.....Like me as a little kid peeping in the next door window watching a guy's wife undress because I was curios what naked women looked like. Or my curiosity about drugs as a preteen because all they taught us in schools is that's it's bad...oooh, that'll teach us. I'm pretty certain if I was given all the straight dope about that kind of crap from the get go, I wouldn't have had a second thought of interest in it until I was older.

That is so awesome and convenient. I wanted to get my gay friend a giant rainbow flag a few years back when he first came out but it was too hard to find locally.
