Target: 5-Shelf Wire Storage Unit $38 normally $69.99

Target has this 5-shelf unit for $38 at their web-site. If you live near a Target, it's on sale in the store as well. They also have a 4 shelf unit for $28.

Normaly the 5 shelf unit is $69.99 and the 4 shelf unit is $49.99. I know because I bought one last week and went back to get the price match today. I bought 2 of the 5 shelf units before once at Home Depot for $49.99, so this is a nice price on the 5 shelf unit.

BTW, I checked the price for 2 5 shelf units shipped to my door and shipping was only $9.99 + tax $6.85 for a total order of $92 and change.

I have two of these myself. These are good, sturdy shelf units. They're 6-feet tall and 3-feet wide and maybe a foot deep but you can also choose to assemble them as a pair of 3-foot high units and split the 5 shelves between them. What I wound up doing with my pair is to make one 3-foot unit with 4 shelves and one 6 foot unit with 6 shelves (I'll use the 4 unused 3-foot poles for some other project).

They're rated 300 pounds per shelf but that assumes you're distributing the weight evenly. Go to the hardware store and get a couple laminated shelf boards and use them to distribute the weight if you're storing something heavy.

They're not as sturdy as the chrome wire shelving units you can get at Sam's Club but they're half the price. Overall, a good deal.

edit: Okay. They're 18-inches deep 🙂

damn, i just spent 64 on these at lowe's a few weeks ago.....

they are great shelf units, for the garage or for a kinda minimalist entertainment center
maybe i'll have to get one for organizing my storage room.....

The 54"-high model is also on sale, for $28. This one is only 12" deep and would be perfect for a dorm-room (especially considering the ease with which these shelves break down and assemble).

i have several of these collected over the years.. i have 2 54" high units, a 72" unit, and a 2' unit. the latest one i got at kmart 2 or 3 weeks ago, a 54" unit. my first 54" unit cost $50. my 72" came with the 2' unit cost $70.

these things are heavy, so shipping will be hell... luckily it's not

i suggest either using a rubber mallet, or a board and hammer to install, and uninstall the shelves... you need the force of the hammer, the board would prevent ruining the finish. i wish i could find accessories online =\ i need a few of those plastic shim things, and casters too...

as for homedepot, they had an ad for last week for that stuff on sale... dunno if the sale is still on, i forget the price
------
i ordered 2, 93+change after shipping and tax.

apply for their visa card for 10% off =\

rol, i checked the 2nd day shipping to see the price on it... the shipping charge itself was $106
