My local staples never has anything good on the clearance table. 🙁 The last good thing I saw was a Toshiba Cable Modem for $20.

And, as I posted in my post on the other thread, mine turned out to be a Diamondmax 10 with 16 megs of cache. Not bad for $60, even given the recurrant posts about Maxtor's unreliablity.

MD.

My local staples doesnt even have a clearance counter, there computer hardware is 1 isle worth of stuff spread out in 2 isles, they have very little hardware at all

This is also a deal for this week (it ends on Saturday the 26th, and is on the front page of the in-store weekly flyer). 200GB PATA Drive for $60 after rebates. The brand is a Maxtor too, and it has 8MB of cache.

Our local store *used* to have great deals on their clearance rack. Recently they hired a bunch of new employees, mostly very young ones. With those folks came the end to the clearance deals.

They scarf up everything good before the customers even see them and resell them on eBay.
