Tape Drives

I am looking to back things up on my system and I was thinking of using an tape drive. What would be the disadvantages and advantages of using one. I would be backing up about 15gigs worth of data. Which drive(s) would be the best for me.

Thanks

We use two HP drives, DAT 24 and DAT 40 at work...the 40 was around $1000, but can hold 20GB/40GB of data(compressed/uncomp) and is very fast.

Check out the DAT drives. You can get a 20gb IDE or SCSI DAT drive with disks, mounting hardware, softwear, etc, for under 500$. I know that Dirt Cheap Drivescarries a wide selection of drives, and they have a good rep for customer support. Check them out, they carry quite a few tape drives.

Thanks all, I will go ahead and check out Dirt Cheap Drives. Might have to treat myself to one. Don't have a lot of cash though for one. Would there be a better way to back up large amounts of data(personally data), not work related or anything.

Thanks
