Tao Te Ching

A co-worker told me to read Tao Te Ching after finding out I was reading The Book of Five Rings, but there's several translations on Amazon when I did a search for it.

Jonathan Starr's Definitive Edition translation seems to be good, but anyone else have any thoughts?

I own this version, and it works for me. I suggest you read the customer reviews, as some one those people have read multiple translations.

Mitchell's was one I looked at, but the first customer review calls it a stripped down version of Tao Te Ching.

This is the one I was looking at because it includes the Chinese text with word for word translations.

I like that one too. I have read a couple and that is a good starter.

You really should go to a bookstore (leave the house?! :Q) and check them out in person. Not that asking here is a bad idea though.

Have you ever read Musashi? It's a famous historical fiction book about the author of The Book of Five Rings. You might want to check that out even though it's probably nothing like the Book of Five Rings. Just thought I'd let you know (since it's my favorite book and everyone should read it!).
