Tanning salons

I cannot find decently good merit for this, maybe you guys can help me

WHAT is the point of going to a tanning salon and wasting $ when you live in a sunny state like California or Florida and it's summer?

Only slight justification I can see is "less tanning time" or "safer than UV rays"

But I mean, cmon.

There's really not much of a point when you live in Florida or California.

I live in Chicago and I might be going to one soon. Never done it before, but for Cross Country the shorts you wear are really short. I've got a caddy tan too, so it's not gonna look too good unless I make a stop to the tanning salon.

I think people who tan in tanning bed look pretty friggen gross...
