Tanabe exhausts.

My room mate had a tanabe exhaust on his civic, made absolutely no difference.

There's nothing funnier than seeing a riced out 100hp microcar...

Hehe yeah it does look funny, but it's my riced out microcar. 😛

I just want something that looks "better" than the toothpick sized stock exhaust on my car. Not sure which one looks "better" to me so I'd like some opinions other than not to get it.

Between the two, I'd go with the touring. I'm not a big fan of the huge exhaust/muffler look.

So you drive a Yaris but are worried about how the stock exhaust 'looks'? May as well give in to the inner ricer and get the bigger tipped one.

I agree, plus the touring actually has a muffler not some straight thru design which will make the yaris sound like a formul... weed wacker.

I too would choose the touring but it is also a "straight through" design...it just muffles the sound more so than the canister.

I would see if you can get the Super Hyper Medallion. Of course, just because it sounded good on my 2.2L Honda doesn't mean it will do the same with a 1.5 Yaris...

Dude, it's a yaris.... absolutely no point 😕

Just get a bolt-on chrome tip to go on your stock exhaust if you want something with a little more bling.

You idiots saying not to get anything. It's free. It's free. Get the one that is more expensive or looks better to u

Ok, so if you have an opinion like that then don't post in this thread. I only created this thread to see which one I should get. I'll probably be getting free lowering springs or coilovers too.

Everyone else who actually read the OP, thank you.

Here's what I've come to realize. I don't know the OP nor do I care about how he spends his time/money.

Everyone has different tastes in cars. Hell, Greddy makes a turbo kit for the Prius. Point is, if he wants to mod his car, Yaris or not, so be it. At least he's not buying stick-on hood scoops, port holes and turbo badges.

You answered your own question; get the Touring.

Since you're getting the stuff for free, I guess there isn't any harm. I just can't see putting all that work into a Yaris.

And, just for the record, that's not a flame. I drive an '08 Fusion and I would never put that much work into my own car either. The only things I'm considering are factory exhaust tips (just for the rolled edge / polished look) and a bigger rear sway bar / end links, since they actually do improve handling by reducing understeer (according to dozens of user accounts). The people that put Borla / Magnaflow / etc. catback exhaust kits on their Fusion crack me up. It makes it significantly louder and maybe nets you 2-5 HP... for $800. At the end of the day, it's still a family sedan.

I personally wouldn't put that much time into modifying the car either.

It's for free though and they're the ones installing it.

The only things I added to the car myself are the custom GPS mount (since ProClips and KUDA do not make a mount that go in a position I like) and the USB charging ports. I guess I did answer my own question. I like the more "conservative" look of the Medalion Touring over the large, open, can-like look of the Concept G. The exhaust pipe / tip of the Touring look very similar to the exhaust tip Toyota sells for the Yaris. Just wanted to get more opinions so that maybe something important that I don't know about might come up in discussion.

You yourself said in your OP that you aren't a fan of fart can exhausts. I said I wouldn't get a ricer exhaust (basically agreeing with you) so if you're whole reason is to get rid of the toothpick pipe, well, I gave an option of just getting a different tip instead of a whole system that is more likely to be what you said you aren't a fan of anyway. I still think it is pointless on a yaris, but that's just my opinion I tossed out there.

I don't get what you're getting bent out of shape over. I basically agreed with your original premise of not wanting fart can exhaust, so I was trying (maybe not in the best way) to steer you in a way that would avoid such a thing.

But whatever.

I know I said in the OP that I don't like the fartcan exhausts, but maybe there was something important I don't know about that would surface during a discussion about these things. Why would I go out and buy an exhaust tip when someone is offering me a whole new exhaust and free installation?

you're better off going to a Toyota Forum, this is a PC tech forum, with nerds and geeks with minimal knowledge and interest in modding cars. they'll help u more at a car modding forum.

kind of like, going to a car forum and asking how to overclock a pc. they'll call u a big loser and tell u to eat a dick

There's plenty of things that I wouldn't want even if they were free. He says he's not a fan of fartcan exhausts so why the hell would he want a ricer exhaust? He'll probably be happier with his stock exhaust.

We're just recommending what we think he'd be happiest with from what he described.

While I agree with the general idea here, the thought of a Yaris 'enthusiasts' forum cracks me up.

There are forums for every car out there. Yes, there is a Yaris forum called YarisWorld. Same as the Corolla forum CorollaClub and the Honda Fit forum called FitFreaks.

People mod every car out there. Look at the xB. Tons of aftermarket parts for it and it has like 100hp.

Heh you best speak for yourself, there's a large amount of folk on this particular forum that are accomplished mechanics & car/bike nuts...

In general I would postulate there will be minimal interest in modding Yarises... it's a cheap econobox that makes less power than 600cc sport bikes.

This.

You've really got to stop making half-assed assumptions about everyone Louis.
