You ever notice that they play songs fast? They sounds like they're playing at 110% speed, just a little high pitched and faster than it should be. I was listening to it the other day in my car with a friend, and noticed that the drum beat was a little faster than usual; load the song up on my iPod and lo and behold it sounds different. My friend was all , but he can't tell 1080p from broadcast analog, HD-DVD from VHS, or a CD from a 32 kbps MP3.

Why the fuck would they need to do this? An extra minute of advertising each day?

I think people have claimed that before about stations. Allows them more time for ads and people still think they are playing the same number of songs.

XL? Yeah they have been doing it for years. I hate that station.

I didn't realize that you could get XL in Tampa also.

Don't listen to their top 40 crap often, and I just noticed it.

Heh, you can get XL pretty clear in Tampa, comes in crystal clear up north in Spring Hill; better than most Tampa stations (FLZ, 97X, 98ROCK).

Shit, people are dumb. The song just sounded......horrible. Guitar sounded like it was being played a fret or two too high, the drum beat was just off, vocals sounded shitty. Granted, Linkin Park isn't exactly Mozart, but that shit makes a barely listenable song (Shadow of the Day) sound like garbage.

They do the same thing to movies on tv, ever notice the disclaimer at the beginning about being edited to run in the time allowed?

They compress silent segments and speed the whole movie up a bit to "run in the time allowed" means "we want to squeeze in a few more commercials"
