here's my long and detailed review:

saw it last night. Thought it was pretty funny. But not as funny as Anchorman.
 
I'm planning on seeing it tonight. I'm afraid the majority of the jokes were already released in the previews.... I think the concept is good though....especially his name. 😀 I grew up 20 miles from Bristol....I had to see this stuff first-hand growing up. It's pretty sad how serious fans can be when it comes to Nascar.

That means it has 5 funny bits that were all shown in the previews, but the 5 funny bits were not as funny as the 5 funny bits shown in Anchorman's previews?

I love anchorman but I saw Talledega nights last night cause my friend works at the theatre. WOW it sucked. It tried to be funny by saying random things, but it all seemed so forced. The kids were not funny, the supporting actors were not funny, the story was not well put together...

Some funny bits but nothing really great...
 
Getting decent reviews, and it's got sasha baron cohen in it. Surely that will hold me over until Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan comes out.
 
For those that saw it and have come to their senses and realized it sucked like anchorman...how the hell could you have watched the preview and think it was going to be funny?


Just like it cannot be said enough that Alton Brown rocks, Will Ferrel sucks.

Yakshemash! In US of A, if you want to marry a girl, you cannot just go to her father and swap her for 15 gallons of pesticide. Here you have to do something called dating.

In other news, I'll probably go see Taledega Nights this weekend. I find Anchorman to be funnier each time I watch it, so I have my hopes up for this one.

because anchorman IS very funny, and I liked almost all of his other movies...

And it was free...

Will Farrell could sit and watch paint dry and I would laugh my ass off.
I'll be seeing this and likley laughing until I cry the entire time.

Thank you, that's all I need to hear. Anchorman was horribly unfunny...I'll make sure I miss this movie based on that alone.

The only REALLY funny bit in there is the one skit even that site says was funny because of Christopher Walken...

Seriously, I LOVED "Old School", but he is not the bee's knees of comedy. When your top ten SNL skit list includes skits that were never aired on SNL, you know you are not the funniest guy around...

yeah if you don't like anchorman then you don't really like will ferrel movies anyway and wouldn't be seeing this movie regardless.

I'm actually leaving work early to go see it now 4:10pm showing. 😀

--I'm back. It was actually pretty funny. It's hard to compare it with Anchorman. There are a lot of funny parts, but the humor is a little different because it's making fun of southerners. 😀 It's definitely funny though. 7/10
 
I'm kind of torn.

Old School was good but Vince Vaughn and the "Mitch" actor made that move

Anchorman was horrid.

I'm still debating if I want to see this new one.
