This is what I've got for my trip to Europe next month - can anyone speak to how the service is?

Talk Mobile is the cell service provider of the Carphone Warehouse/Phone house group and is one of Europe's largest independent mobile phone suppliers.

The underlying network is Vodafone, which is the largest provider in the world.

Would I be able to use that card in the states, too?

Probably. I don't know who Voda partner with for GSM in the US. Verizon, who Voda mostly own, obviously use CDMA, so that's out. Whatever you do I would check with the roaming info, but expect high charges.
