I have terrible people skills and it's really affecting my life. I can't even call this guy I'm supposed to have an interview with at 4 to tell him I can't make it. I don't know what's wrong with me. I've always been like this and I just can't seem to grow the balls to talk to anyone new. I'm just this extremely sensitive person that takes every word and it's tone seriously. Ah, I need help.

good thing you can't hear me laughing, then... because you'd probably get all upset ;)

My advice: start drinking. A lot and often.

He responded with good advice, too. Alcohol (in moderation) will make you open up and be more talkative, and give you self-confidence.

Ah, I did it. I'm stupid. The guy wasn't even there today. I gotta reattach my balls.

Maybe you are shy, or even have problems with anxiety if it is extremely troubling. Either get some pills to calm you down or practice talking to people. Avoidance makes it worse.

Aside from becoming a lush, practice makes perfect.
I used to be completely introverted and unable to talk to people. Just keep forcing yourself to do it and you'll get more and more comfortable as time goes one.
Other things you could do would be to participate in activities/classes/jobs that require social interaction, i.e. speech class, audition for a play, retail sales.
My school offers a theater course which focuses on improvisation. I took it and it was one of the best things I ever did.

Yeah, not bad. Just remember nobody is expecting you to be 'someone'- be yourself like everyone else. Force yourself to be a little more outgoing.
