Talking Parrot Video

Wow, I guess there's a reason why African Grays are considered the smart ones. I thought the shots of that one woman dropping her jaw far enough to swallow the Eiffel Tower were pretty funny, though.

Ok I'm convinced. One day parrots (with their fellow dolphins) will take over the world.

They're plotting now as we speak...

That lady reminds me of Catherine Bell. And as for the parrot, smart bird, I want o get one, but african greys are expensive.

i submit that the cats have been plotting to overthrow that alliegence as soon as the pesky humans are removed.

Hahaha!! My grey does some of the same stuff, but he's not trained on command to do it like that! I can get him to bob his head up and down if i play a rocking tune on my cell phone for him. He's still young though.

judging from your avatar I suspect you are one of these conspiring felines!

Some good friends of mine have an African gray parrot, and it is amazing. It has a vocabulary of over 2500 words, and does a wonderful job imitating voices. Sometimes I will be sitting in another room, and I will hear my friend call me over, and it will be the parrot using my friend's voice.

Are they hard to care for?

1. Not really. They love attention when they're not sleeping.... so if they're free birds they'll come to you when they want it. But since they're parrots, you'll spend a good deal of time playing with them just for the heck of it. Its basic pet maintence, just clean the cage and keep their food supply plenitful. My parrots will pretty much eat anything. So if you let them free, make sure they're not chewing on your stuff. Our remotes are missing a lot of buttons, and the wooden handrail up the steps is near gone.

2. my fmaily has two parrots, a green fronted amazon and a grey. I think the green one my mom got from a friend, but I know we got the grey for $600. they're probably both in the same price range. Cage is very expensive though!
