my sister is in ROTC at Eastern Michigan and has been in for the last couple of years i guess. She's under the impression that she's going to come out with higher rank than me, and she's never been to BCT. How does this work?

First, what rank are you and what branch? Does your sister is a member of a National Guard/Army reserve unit while she's in ROTC?

i'm e-3 in the army. My sister is NOT a member of any service.

She can't outrank you at this moment because she's a damn cadet. I'm an E-5 in the NG and there are a bunch of ROTC cadets in my unit. They are not outrank me right now but they will when they get their bars.

so if they're going to outrank you soon, where's the motivation to stay in the service?

1) Go to college and join ROTC
2) Go to OCS or USMA

Problem solved
