I agree with your plan to wait. Its a very tempting car, but if it follows most other cars, and is going to be produced for a while, the price will go down.

And yeah, this

I bought my ST technically used, as CPO with 4500 miles. Because it's CPO, it added another 12k on top of the factory warranty, so it was good to a total of 43k more miles vs 36 of a new. That, and it was the right color, St3 with all options, for 26.5k. For 26k I could have gotten a base model in yellow I didn't want for only $500 less. If I get an RS, I'll probably look to do something similar

out of curiosity, what did the dealer list your CPO ST at? I cannot find any CPO ST3 below 30K here
also, what year is your ST?
 
gotcha. I've been looking at 2015 and newer with sub 10K miles. Are there significant differences between 2013, 14, and 15?
 
Yep, not many differences between '13 and '14. '15 added the flat bottomed steering wheel, heated steering wheel, and a different body style. It also had some interior improvements including much needed interior storage compartments. The '16 added Sync 3, which is supposed to be a big improvement over Sync 2.
