man first time i played this game i was let down.... i said to myself "man this is so mindless and pointless shooting"

but then i played it today on my lunch break... man o man was it fun... you first have to find the LOWEST ping server... i have cable that normally gets 14 ping on servers close ot me. but i was getting in the 200+... anyways i finally found a good server and started playing... i was the medic and finally understood his goal... i'd stay close to the front lines and heal people woh needed help.. and revive fallen guys.. it was fun.. yet a problem i had with people is that my teammates were dyeing and then wouldn't wait 2 seconds for me to revive them.. it annoyed me cuz that's my job in the game..

and use of communication really is cool in the game.. people say "thank you" when you heal them hten i say "you're welcome" it's great haha

the game still needs a lot more work.. the netcode is horrible... very laggy no matter what server you're on..

the weapon physics need to be tweaked a little... i dunno... i hope htey improve the game play a little more

what do you think of it?

once the bugs are ironed out - this game is gonna ROCK !!

I played for like 20 minutes on my bro's computer yesterday - today I plan to install it on mine & on my server so we can run our own games & get decent pings.

I like the small time delay waiting to re-spawn - makes the game just feel like waves & waves of troops are attacking :)
on another note KBrinks - sometimes you get re-spawned pretty quickly.. are you saying that as soon as I enter the screen to choose which weapons etc. for next round that you can't heal me ?? didn't know that

No kidding, thats one thing that made Tribes/Tribes2 rock. Good to see other games using it now.

Yeah, once you enter the "limbo" screen, you can't be revived

I have no problems with lag. Spent about an hour playing today, and got two brief (1-2 seconds) lag bursts, other then that, it's been great.

I think once you enter limbo you should be able to be revived because people go to limbo too quickly ..

I love it. I'm not a FPS person at all. I bought Tribes 2 the first day it came out, played it for about 2 hours, and thats it. I've played this game now for a good 5-6 hours and I LOVE it. I'll definitely get the real deal when it comes out.

I've had my eye on this game since I heard about it, since Castle Wolfenstein was one of the first PC games I played. To me, the single player was what I was looking forward to; but hearing that people think the MP is fun despite it's problems makes me think that this game will be a must have.

Unfortuneatly yesterday I was having problems connecting to servers, I don't know if it is because the master servers were down or if it's because I'm using Windows ICS. I want to go kick some nazi butt!

yeah people are going into that "limbo" screen to fast... like when your a medic and someone falls. you see a little surrenge icon above their body.... most of the time peole haven't learned how to play yet just press the jump button and then i cant heal htem back and hten they have ot wait 30 some seconds to join again..

so people who are playing once you die, please just wait a few seconds.. your team might have someoen who knows how to be a medic and can save you hter 30 second wait... wait like 5-10 seconds. i know i'll be there as quick as possible if i see your "medic" request is close to my area...

man all this talk aobut it makes me wanna get back and play

I'm kinda tired of hearing that. It's not true.. DoD was ripping off another game, another game was ripping of another.. it goes on. It's annoying. How could they not to the D-Day beach seen?

It's well done, and I can't wait for more of it. The flamer is so much fun! I love the feel, and the terrain.. netcode = suck!

The only thing I found weird is that alliens can chose german guns like their default machine gun. I understand the panzerfaust since they cant code 40 deferent rocket launchers but the allies have the thomson so they dont need the german gun... German can also chose the thompson though so it's not only allies... weird

Wish List -

RtCW
Medal of Honour - Allied Assault.

It's not bad for a beta. I still am more absorbed into Day of Defeat though. Both games are based on WWII (albeit RTCW has less to do with WW2)

I don't think RTCW is going for realism though, it's pretty much going to be a team frag fest with a WWII theme. (yes, there are some objectives other than fragging... but what are the scores based on?)

About the weapon physics: Machine guns appear way too accurate. One thing I do applaude is how the sniper rifle has been implemented. To be a successful sniper, one actually has to stay relatively motionless and calibrate your aim over time. That's one thing I wish Day of Defeat had.

This game seems far too dependant on medics. So far on the servers I've been visited, no one plays as a medic (or so few actually play that they aren't effective enough) so I lay on the forsaken ground and get to "enjoy" camera chases of other players. Fairly reminescent of CS ;)
