Talk about Priority mail . . .

I sold and shipped a camera lens back on Feb. 17th. The lens was shipped from Denver Colorado to Brownsville Texas. The buyer never got the lens and the DC# showed it arrived at the Brownsville Texas Post Office at 3:45am Feb 22nd. The USPS has given me the run around and so has the bone head at the Brownsville PO. Today, March 8th, the Denver PO attempted to deliver the package to my house. Tomorrow I have to go to the local PO and pick it up. It have gotten nothing from the PO except a bad attitude stating: "Priority mail is not guaranteed in two to three days." I told them "No $hit, but over a week is unacceptable." Now I'm hoping the lens (Canon 100mm Macro EF 2.8 USM) isn't damaged. The buyer still wants to purchase it (I already refunded him.). I will be asking for a refund on the shipping and insurance. 😀

I bought a laptop from a reputable seller that was shipped via Priority on 3/1/06 and I am still waiting. This is Michigan to CA.

I fear for the laptop, morons.

Never had problem w/ Priority Mail or USPS. Knock on wood. I put the wrong addy on an eBay shipment once, wrong apt. number to be exact. I called the post office for that zip code (I think it's some where in Georgia), talked to the nice lady there, and she fixed the problem for me. USPS FTW!

Yeah, I've never had a problem with USPS either. In fact they are great because they have a drop box for packages at my apartment. With the others I have to be there to sign for the package.

I insure EVERY USPS package as I've had quite a few lost/damaged lately. Are they are turning into the next UPS?!?!?!

At least USPS will honor their insurance, unlike UPS morons.
I've never yet had a reason to be po'd at the PO.

I sold a baseball bat on ebay several years ago and USPS lost it. Three months later it was found. Got a letter in the mail telling me that it was a classic "it was behind the driver's seat" story.

The only times I've had Priority mail take longer than 3 days, 2 times it was because the sender wrote my address wrong(amazing I got them at all), and once because the sender didn't mark it as Priority, but did pay enough postage to be considered Priority.

I think it ended up going through the parcel post depot, which can add several days to the delivery time, even if the distance is short. Most parcel post packages go to regional hubs, but I believe Priority Mail is handled just like first class mail and gets sorted at post offices.

i'm actually having a similar situation. Sold some RAM to a guy thru FS/FT, I'm in CA, he's in VA. it showed delivered in 2 days. He hasn't received it. I was told i have to fill out a lost/tampered mail form.

I don't trust USPS with expensive items.
I offer insurance on every item I send. If the buyer doesn't get insurance it would be his/her fault if the package gets lost.
FedEx and Airborne are my favorites.
USPS is good for those <3lbs items that are not expensive as. Priority mail is also pretty good for cross country shipping as it can take 2 days. A good majority of the time the actual delivery time would be 3 days instead of the ETA 2 days on their website.
I rarely use Express Mail, but in the few times I have had it got delivered in the number of days it says on the website.

The only company I hate is UPS, but if it is a good deal cheaper than other shipping options (when buying from a person/company), then I will probably use that method.
